SILVERCREEK PUBLIC SCHOOL TAKES UP THE CHALLENGE!
Silver Creek Public School isflying the flags on the last week of school to show their national pride for Canada’s 150th birthday.
HALTON HILLS, ON – (June2017) Silver Creek Public School has ordered 700 garden flags for the last week of school to show their national pride for Canada’s 150th birthday. All the flags will be given to the children as they go onto their summer breaks, with a newsletter to the parents explaining the challenge and how they can register the flags. Silver Creek Public School is also challenging the other local schools to step up and beat their Oh Canada! week event.
As of June 16 2017, there are currently over20,000 flags registered on the challenge website, with momentum growing as we move into the final weeks.
“It is exciting to see all of the community groups and schools of Halton Hills who have taken to this challenge with such enthusiasm and excitement. They have really helped to spread the challenge far and wide all over Halton Hills”says Laurent Thibault of the Halton Hills Cultural Roundtable and The Canada 150 Ambassador.
Garden Flags can be picked up from various locations around Georgetown and Acton including, Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce, Public Libraries, Town Hall, Gellert Centre, Moldmasters Sportsplex, Georgetown Farmers’ Market, Acton Sportsplex and Downtown Acton BIA.
