Next Steps from FALL FLEX /

1.  Craft introductory letter from the IAC to go to new adjuncts describing the project before us and brief summary of progress to date. Berta and Dotti to discuss with Myles Clower linking with new adjuncts during orientation.

2. Check with President Burgess re: option of a small duplicating budget for departments for Assessment Cycle work. Add this to the CW form.

Second IAC meeting of the Month / Confirmed that we would like the first Friday of the Month to be usual or regular committee work, and the 3rd Friday to involve departments for either education or presentation. /

Philosophy will present in October at the third Friday meeting. Need INTERNET access in the meeting room for Bill Grimes and Lijuan.

Assessment Participation / Briefly discussed inclusion of classified staff, management, groups that work within instruction, and Student Services, Facilities and Business Services being part of the assessment effort. /

Continue plan at this time to have some of this work occur in Spring 06. Consider involvement of Jim Nichol’s IEA group to work with these groups.

Tentative idea to have this group meet at Mission Trails on a Saturday to ensure availability and participation during non-classroom days. / IAC / Tentative Spring 06 / Assessment to involve all disciplines and staff on the campus.

IAC newsletter / Thank you to Jaime for all his many hours on the web pages for assessment. Work completed in August. Intervening time has involved work with the web mistress to conform to City standards. /

Need memo in Faculty Bulletin explaining how to access these web pages and their content.

Committee discussed feasibility of establishment of a link on the web to an IAC newsletter. (Idea was a one page IAC newsletter to feature a department’s work (with dept. approval)). Newsletter would also have contacts and numbers.

Decided separate DL to Chairs to inquire into what people are doing to date within the dept.
