TALK IT OVER

Reflection:

  1. Was it hard to reel in a fish once you hooked one?
  2. What did the fish feel like?
  3. What types of bait were used to lure the fish in?
  4. Did the pop can casting rig that you practiced casting with, help you learn how to cast a real fishing pole?
  5. What was the hardest thing about fishing for you?
  6. How many fish did you catch?
  7. Why did we throw the fish back?
  8. What type of fish did we find in this lake?
  9. What type of fish wouldn’t we find in this lake?

Helpful Hints

1.  Contact your local DNR office for help with locating a good fishing lake nearby

2.  The DNR might also have poles that the youth can use so there is not a cost of purchasing the poles
