SHORT ABSTRACT – GENERAL FORMAT

Your short abstract should not exceed 300 WORDS in length (exclude references) and should conform to the following guidelines:

  1. Paper format

a)Standard A4; portrait orientation; should not exceed 1 page.

b)Margin – top: 3 cm (1.2”); bottom,left and right: 2.5 cm (1”) each.

  1. The abstract must be written in English.
  1. The first page must start with title, author list and affiliations extending across the full width of the page.
  1. Paper title is to appear in CAPITAL LETTERS, centred across the top of the two columns on the first page (Arial, bold, size 14).
  1. Authors’ names (Arial, size 11) and affiliations (Arial, italic, size 10) appear below the title, also centred, in capital and lower case letters. Give all authors’ names: do not use et. al.
  1. Mark the name of authors with a number (1) and provide affiliations and addresses. Underline the name of presenting author.
  1. Mark the name of the corresponding author with an asterisk (*) and provide phone, fax number and e-mail.
  1. A maximum of 5 keywords (Arial, size 10) should directly follow the corresponding author text.
  1. The abstract text should not exceed 300 words[Arial, single space, size 11, justified].
  1. Do not overcrowd the paper by making the spacing too small in the text. Small type faces can create severe readability problems when printed. Please do not use a smaller print than 10 points unless when listing, references, tables, table names, table captions, figure captions, footnotes, and sub- and superscripts.
  1. Use one space between sections and between text and tables/figures to manipulate the page length.
  1. Define abbreviations and acronyms the first time they are used.
  1. References

a)List and number all references at the END of the paper.

b)When referring to them in the text, type the corresponding reference number in square brackets as shown at the end of this sentence [1].

  1. Footnotes

a)Number the footnotes separately in superscripts1.

b)Place the actual footnote at the bottom of the column in which it is cited.

c)Do not put footnotes in the reference list.

  1. Please remember to spell check your entire abstract.

The abstract should be concise and briefly describe the background, project objectives, methods, results and conclusion. It should be typed in Arial font, size 11, single- spaced and justified. Margins (left, right and bottom – 1”; top – 1.2”). The abstract text should not exceed 300 words excluding references (minimum 150 words).

EXTENDED ABSTRACT – GENERAL FORMAT

Your extended abstract should not exceedTWO PAGES in length and should conform to the following guidelines:

  1. Paper format

a)Standard A4; portrait orientation; should not exceed 2 pages.

b)Margin – top: 3 cm (1.2”); bottom: 2.5 cm (1”); left and right: 2.5 cm (1”) each.

  1. The abstract must be written in English.
  1. The first page must start with title, author list and affiliations extending across the full width of the page.
