Pre-registration for 2017/2018

Rising 10th, 11th, and 12th Grade Students

You are now pre-registering for your 2017/2018 classes. Once you have made your selections and have been officially pre-registered, no changes will be made during the pre-registration process. Please keep the following guidelines in mind as you select classes.

□7 credits will be required to be a sophomore.

14 credits will required to be a junior.

20 credits will be required to be a senior.

□Every year the following classes are required: English, History, Math and Science.

Seniors -- Algebra II is the minimum requirement for admission into most 4 year colleges/universities

All Students must complete a full credit of LIFE (or its equivalent), Career Prep, ½ credit in Health, and three electives in either Career Tech, Fine Arts, or Foreign Language.

□Rising sophomores must choose an Academy with Academy Specialist, Mrs. Booth.

Academy Changes must be made at the end of student’s sophomore year, and only one academy change is allowed. Changes must be made with Academy Specialist, Mrs. Booth.

Students must choose an academy class each year. If a student does not choose an academy class, they will not be considered an academy completer and will not be recognized at graduation.

□Each student must select a number of courses that will equal eight blocks and two short blocks. Some courses count for more than one block. For example, journalism and ROTC will count as two blocks because students take them each term. Career Tech courses may count as one or two.

A Note About your classes!

There are now only two types of Diplomas:

1. Regular – 28 credits, listed in the chart below, are needed to graduate with a Regular Diploma.

2. Advanced with Honors – 30 credits, listed in the chart below, and a minimum of 3.5 GPA are needed to graduate with Honors Diploma.

Please refer to this chart to make sure you are taking the classes needed for your diploma type.
