Shirts Should Be Tucked in at All Times

Dear Parents:

Our first 9 weeks flew by. The kiddos are settling in to staying all day. I am not hearing is it time to go home as much. Thank you for your continued support. Please look over this entire newsletter. All divisions are very important and need to be addressed.

School Supplies

School supplies- We need more baby wipes. We use them for many things and are already out.

Uniforms

Our class does a very good job at complying with the uniform policy. Now that it is getting colder, please remember that long sleeve shirts that are worn under the polo should be black, white or school colors and leggings under skirts and skorts should be black or white. The pants should be uniform pants and girls, no leggings by themselves only under skirts/skorts. One more REMINDER-

Shirts should be tucked in at all times.

Homework

Homework will be sent out on Tuesdays and need to be returned no later than Friday. On weeks I do not send home any homework, be sure to read an extra couple of books and have them draw a picture in their 100 Book Challenge Journal.

Attendance & Tardies

The state of Texas requires the students to be present 90% of the time in order to receive credit and continue to the next grade level. I understand there are times when your child is sick and you need to keep them home. However if their attendance drops below 90% they will be required to go to intersession school during our breaks and/or attend tutoring afterschool from 3:30-4:30.

It is very important that your child be on time. I will pick up the kiddos at 7:35am. Please be careful with the tardies, because when they are tardy 3 times, they will have to stay inside for lunch detention. And they love Recess after they eat.

If you are interested in volunteering here at school, Please be sure to fill out the volunteer background information located in the front of the school.

Deputy Dads- Our school is looking for some Dads who have time during the school day to volunteer helping the students during lunch, recess, and even during PE. So… Dads… if you have the time, come on down to school and sign up to be a Deputy Dad.
