SHIPPING LOADER

Reports to: Shipping Manager

Status: Regular Full Time Employee

Job Summary: Loading trucks for delivery as scheduled

Principle Accountabilities

  • Assist in the manual loading of windows on trucks for delivery as scheduled
  • Verifies products to be shipped by comparing count to shipping list; noting discrepancies
  • Perform inventory of products before delivery
  • Scans products (windows / patio doors/ etc.) via barcode tags in and out of inventory
  • Completes required paperwork
  • Responsible to report safety and quality issues to management
  • UPS, LTL, and truckload shipment preparation
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License for deliveries
  • High School Diploma, General Educational Development Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to understand and carry out basic instructions while performing manual production related tasks.
  • Must be able to successfully use basic, math, writing, and reading skills necessary to complete the required paperwork and projects.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. repetitively
  • Must be able to handle large pieces of glass
  • Free to move about plant environment as necessary
  • Must be self-motivated with a proper sense of urgency
  • Able to operate necessary equipment for the position: hand jack, telephone, computer, etc. Must be able to walk and remain on feet for extended periods of time.

  • Employee is frequently assigned to changing priorities

  • Windows computer software knowledge and proficiency a big plus.

Attendance Expectations

  • Must be punctual and able to stay on the job for the required amount of hours Work weeks are usually 5 days: Some Saturdays are required. Monday to Friday hours fluctuate according to workload and production. Employee may be requested to work overtime, with paid compensation
  • Schedule includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Employee must be willing to work all hours required.
