1.  JOB IDENTIFICATION

Job Title: Broadband Manager
Responsible to: Senior Product Manager
Department(s): Broadband

2. JOB PURPOSE

To manage the allpay Broadband products , enhancing the current services and products offered in line with the business strategy needs, both technically and geographically.
Full commercial responsibility for the broadband products and meeting budget targets for customers and revenues.
To identify and generate appropriate new business opportunities for allpay at the best possible profit margins.
To build successful relationships with our clients to ensure their complete satisfaction with allpay products and resolve any issues for clients in a professional and timely manner.
3. DIMENSIONS
Responsible for overseeing the Broadband service for approximately 150 current clients plus potential new clients.
The Broadband manager will be responsible for a set number of visits a week, this will be defined in the strategy however this currently stands at 400 visits by the end of 2010.
This role will encompass all of the Herefordshire area by the end of 2010.
Responsible for 2 members of staff (Broadband Systems Administrator and Broadband Technician), however this may increase as the service grows.
Building and maintaining excellent customer relationships with new and existing clients.
Liaising with various internal staff members (at all levels) and departments, in particular Marketing to implement an appropriate marketing strategy for broadband,
Developing excellent working relationships with external suppliers such as Motorola, Azotel and the Hereford Diocese.

4. ROLE OF DEPARTMENT

To provide a comprehensive Broadband service for new and existing clients, identifying gaps in the market to ensure the Broadband service is reaching its full potential.
To set the product strategy, drive the performance of existing products and develop the company’s new and enhanced products.

5. KEY RESULT AREAS

Consult with internal and external clients to understand business requirements, plan projects, and deliver to time, cost and quality benchmarks.
Responsible for liaising with Marketing on a suitable marketing strategy and promotional campaigns. Obtain feedback from relevant sources on these campaigns to measure their success.
In liaison with the Telemarketing team act on sales leads, visiting potential clients and presenting the relevant products to them.
Establish an effective sales technique, including the ability to identify, pursue and “Close” business opportunities at the best possible profit to the Company and maximising cross selling opportiunities.
Develop and implement a pricing strategy for products and services.
To monitor product performance in terms of uptake usage and customer satisfaction and make changes as necessary.
To oversee the complete product lifecycle, from developing and implementing the product to after sales customer care.
To assist the Senior Product Manager with developing the Broadband strategy, using relevant market intelligence and identifying future trends in broadband. This is to be presented to the Senior Product Manager / Managaing Director or the Board as required.
Responsible for Building business cases to support investment decisions for service enhancements and new developments working closely with other departments, and external agencies, such as CISAS, Local Government and OFCOM
Liaison with external suppliers (such as Motorola) and partners for product development.
To monitor income targets to report to the Board and Managing Director. Use this data to set new targets and identify trends.
Deliver and manage service launches internally describing the sales expectations, internal/client benefits, competitor landscape, operational support/implementation and future developments. Provide ongoing product maintenance support to the team.
Deliver service launches externally to new locations around the UK.
To ensure all client queries/complaints are resolved to their total satisfaction, and escalate any issues as required to the Senior Product Manager.
Responsible for the day to day management of staff including work allocation, performance / attendance issues, participating in recruitment, appraisal and personal development planning etc.

6. ADDITIONAL KEY DUTIES

Willing and able to travel locally and internationally.

7. KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, in particular English and Maths
Educated to degree level or equivalent with a good technical and commercial understanding
Proven experience of working in the Broadband industry
Experience of managing a team based both in the office and out in the field
Knowledge of Allpay systems and products
Proven product management experience
Familiarity with the Data Protection Act
Familiar with Profit and Loss accounts
Experience of successfully promoting new services to new areas
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with and influence colleagues and external contacts
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Good Analytical skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Must be able to work on own initiative and make decisions
Excellent time management skills along with the ability to multi task
Flexible and adaptable to a changing working environment
