Mori Seiki NL1500SY CNC Lathe
MGS Increases Tooling Capabilities
Germantown, Wisconsin-- The MGS Mfg. Group, a leading provider of engineered engineering manufacturing solutions to the plastics industry, has added a new Mori Seiki NL1500SY CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathe to its Technical Center tool shop located in Germantown, Wisconsin.
The new lathe is a smaller version of the company’s existing Mori Seiki NL2500Y CNC lathe, offering Y Axis and live tooling, but provides a few additional features including a graphite package and a sub-spindle.
The company’s continual investment in equipment and in the development of manufacturing technologies facilitates the production of precision, low cost mold components for the medical market.
As an additional improvement in its automated tool shop at Moldmakers, a Fanuc robot is being installed on the company’s röders 500 DS 5-axis machine. The 5-axis machine was incorporated in July of this year and has proven to be a valuable and resourceful addition for the company and its customers, as it improves lead-times and efficiencies.
