  1. Date and venue

The 6th Regular Meeting of the SIRG will be held in El Salvador on December 10-12, 2008, at the Convention Centre of the Hotel Royal Decameron Salinitas in Playa Salinitas, Sonsonate. Telephone: (503) 2209-3000. The Hotel is located 125 km from the El Salvador International Airport and 87 km from the city of San Salvador.

  1. Accreditation

Accreditation will be issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador. Delegates must access the system “on-line” at and complete the fields displayed. The deadline for accreditation is December 5, 2008.

  1. Arrival and Welcome at the airport

All participants are expected to arrive at the El Salvador International Airport and will be received by a party of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador.

The headquarters Hotel will provide transportation for all accredited delegations for the duration of the event, at an approximate cost of *US$ 45.00 (per person, from the airport to the hotel and return). This service must be requested of the hotel directly, using the same registration form. The transfer from the Comalapa Airport and the Hotel Royal Decameron Salinitas is approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

  1. Flight reconfirmation

The Hotel Royal Decameron Salinitas will provide a flight reconfirmation service through its agency, Decameron Explorer, located at the Hotel.

  1. Visas and others

a)Visas:

In order to gain entry into El Salvador, a passport that is valid for at least six months

is required. All countries requiring a visa must visit the El Salvador Consulate closest to them and carry out the corresponding procedure. The cost of the visa is US$ 30.00.

  • The cost of the tourist card is US$ 10.00 and is issued upon arrival in the Salvadorian territory by Immigration Officers of El Salvador.

In order to provide the participating delegates with improved support in the issuing of visas for the event, it is recommended that those delegates experiencing any problems in arranging their Salvadorian visa in their countries, can do so at the El Salvador Consulate in Washington D.C, during the 5th Meeting of the SIRG carded for November 17-19 in Washington D.C.

  1. Yellow Fever vaccination:

In light of the fact that El Salvador has succeeded in eradicating “Yellow Fever”, the Ministry of Health has resolved to enforce from April 7, 2008, as a mandatory requirement for entry into Salvadorian territory that all visitors must be vaccinated against Yellow Fever and must bring with them the corresponding “International Vaccination Certificate for Yellow Fever (IVC)”.

Conditions: For all persons travelling to El Salvador from:

- Bolivia

- Brazil

- Colombia

- Ecuador

- Guyana

- Paraguay

- Peru

- Venezuela

  • The original IVC must be presented.
  • The vaccine must be administered at least ten days prior to the flight date.

Exemptions:

Children below the age of 12 months, pregnant women and persons who cannot receive the vaccination due to their health status, must present a Yellow Fever vaccination exemption, signed by an authorised medical official or authorised health agent.

  1. Accommodation

Delegates will stay at the Hotel Royal Decameron Salinitas, in Playa Salinitas in Sonsonate. Telephone: (503) 2209-3000. Delegates must make their reservations directly with the Hotel with a copy to the National Secretariat of Trinidad and Tobago () at the preferential rate offered during the event. A certain number of rooms have been reserved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador and the National Secretariat of Trinidad and Tobago. The special rates will be offered up to December 5, 2008. Failure to make reservations by that date will result in the Hotel applying the current available rate. The reservation code for the meeting is SIRG/GRIC.

  1. Medical Services

A basic health service will be provided for the duration of the event at the Hotel Royal Decameron Salinitas, the headquarters for the conference. There will also be a doctor permanently available as well as 24 hour emergency transport to a hospital facility, if necessary.

The legal tender in El Salvador is the United States dollar (US$).

The Hotel Royal Decameron Salinitas is equipped with an automatic teller service accepting both national and international credit cards.

  1. Climate and dress code

The weather is warm in December. Temperatures range between 26 and 30 degrees centigrade.

The headquarters Hotel is a beach facility. It is therefore recommended that light clothing be used, preferably cotton. For Conference sessions, a jacket is recommended since the conference rooms are air conditioned.
