Position Summary
The employee will, with little direct supervision, perform general lathe machining. Cross-functional training is mandatory; the employee will be required to work in various disciplines within the machine shop area.

- Setup and machine production to blueprints or work instructions.
- Maintain and sharpen all tooling as required
- Be familiar with all tools required for setup and inspection of various machinery and work in process
- Act as in-process inspector where required
- Be able to maintain tolerances to within .0001 inches
- Cross train in all areas of the machine shop as required
- Assist other employees as required
- Maintain scrap and rework to within acceptable minimums
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Read, interpret and execute work instructions
- Follow all company policies including safety instructions
- Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices
List the level of education and/or experience needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience involving similar equipment processes, measuring tools and machining operations in an Aerospace Overhaul and Repair station.
- Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Must possess the necessary tools to perform position responsibilities
- Basic machine trade blueprint reading.
- Proficient with hand held inspection instruments.
- Proficient in the use of the optical comparator
