How Do I?

Brief View of eText App Toolbar

Search within the text

At the top of the screen, there is a search icon (Magnifying glass). Click on it and enter your search terms to easily find pages that contain the term you are searching for. Use the grey bar at the bottom of your search to limit the search down to particular chapters and narrow your search.

View recent searches

To look back at your most recent search results, click on “History”.

Highlight

Highlighting allows you to mark up the book as much as you want while studying. To add a highlight, hold your finger on the page where you’d like to add a highlight. Remove your finger and select “New Highlight”. Then use the two blue circles to manipulate the highlight to the desired size. You can move the highlight by placing your finger in the highlight and moving it around.

If you need to delete your highlight, hold your finger over the highlighted area until the delete button appears and then select delete.

Take notes

Note taking is a breeze in your eText. To add a new note, hold your finger on the page where you’d like to add a note. Remove your finger and select “New Note”. Then type in your note and hit save. Your note will now show up as a thumbtack. Instructor notes show up as a green thumbtack and your notes will show up as a yellow thumbtack.

You can read your notes by double-tapping on the thumbtack. If you need to delete your note, double-tap on the thumbtack and then select edit and then the trash can on the top-left side of the note.

Find Notes

You can find notes by clicking on the thumbtack on the menu bar. This will bring up the Notes Manager, which you can use to search for your notes by keyword, chapter/section, page range or recent notes.

Download Materials to Work Offline

You can download chapters from your books to make them available for offline use. Select the Download Manager Arrow from the main menu (a downward facing arrow) and select chapters to download to make them available offline.

Bookmark

Use the bookmark tool to mark where you left off on your eText or to remember important pages. Click on the bookmark tool to mark the current page you are viewing.

If you want to view all of your bookmarks, click the Baskets icon on the 2nd from left-hand navigation of your eText, and select Bookmarks. To delete a bookmark, go to the marked page and click on the Bookmark tool on the top navigation.
