Setting up Outlook 2007 to use RPC over HTTP for Inside/Outside Laptops
Configure this while you are in the office, connected and logged into the Domain
(You no longer have to use the VPN for Outlook)
(If you are at Home and setting Outlook for the first time Connect to VPN then setup your outlook.
After you setup the Outlook and Configured CRM, disconnect the VPN connection).
Edit Your Outlook 2007 profile
1.Click onThe Start Button and then click Control Panel
2.Click “Mail” icon
3.Click Show Profiles
4.Click your current Profile (in most cases this will be named Outlook)
5.Click properties
6.Click E-mail Accounts
7.Highlight Microsoft Exchange Server
8.Click Change
9.Click More Settings
Click On the Security Tab
- Encryption
- Should remain checked (Encrypt data between Microsoft Office Outlook and Exchange)
- Logon Network Security
- Make sure this drop down box states: Negotiate Authentication
Click On the Connection Tab
- Click the box next to “Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP” (this will check the box)
- Click Exchange Proxy Settings
- Set up your Proxy Settings, use Setting 1 first, if that doesn’t work try again with Setting 2

Check the Connect using SSL only

- Click Exchange Proxy Settings
- Enter in the Proxy Server:
mail.cfent.net
- Change the Proxy authentication settings to NTLM Authentication and click OK.
- Click OK again to complete the Microsoft Exchange window
- Click OK again
Inside/Outside laptop useruse this settings.

Click Finish
Click Close
Click Close
Click OK

You are now ready to reconfigure your CRM connection
And/Or
At this point you can now open Outlook 2007 without the VPN.
Reconfiguring your CRM connection
Click Start
Click All Programs
Click Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0
Click Configuration Wizard
Leave the Radio button selected next to Change your configuration
Keep the existing database for the SQL laptop users
Click Next
Select “My Company”
Click Next
In the Intranet address type:
Uncheck the “Use the same….”
External Web address type:
Click Next
If you are at Home and setting up CRM for the first time on your Desktop or Laptop
Select: An online service provider
Web Address:
Click Next
Click Finish
When you open Outlook, you should receive 2 connection boxes. The first one will be for the CRM server, fill in your user name and password
Check the box next to “Remember my password and connect me automatically”
Click OK
Sign into the Exchange server(domain\yourusername) and Network Password.
Click OK
