·  Tomorrow night is Residence Hall House Calls, thank you to those who signed up

·  Thank you for getting the Bylaws passed and for your commitment to them

·  Met with Dean Van Norman today; meeting with John Signorello on Friday with the Setonian talking about changes made to dining options over the summer

·  James will present on what his organization is asking for and talk briefly about the event and then Senate can debate the issue or go into voting procedure

·  Finance Committee – always send clubs to resource center; all forms are there. They must apply through 25Live and wait for James’s approval, following their approval, Jess will send out a form and an appointment time for finance committee, then they send it back

  3. TurboVote outreach day will be next week; hoping to set up a station for students to register for TurboVote

  1. Thank you to everyone for coming out to South Orange Play Day! Seton Hall was represented well
  2. We will be swearing in ad-hocs to village relations tonight
  3. Hope to meet with Public Safety in the next two weeks about Blue Light Security poles; this will be an introductory meeting

  6. This year, Department of Student Life did not allocate this money into our budget
  7. Department of International Programs will fund this event entirely except half of the food trucks (requested funds)
  8. Motion to enter debate (5 speakers 30 seconds) by Wilson, second by Gao; approved 16-1
  9. Matino- great event for the entire student body
  10. Doolittle - $3 per person contribution from SGA is reasonable
  11. Baker – there is no reason we should not allot the full amount
  12. Watts – the event was popular last year and most liely will be this year
  13. Wilson – this is our first co-sponsorship; we need to keep in mind we need to budget what we give out; it is good that SGA’s name will be out there

International Festival

Thursday, October 2nd on the University Green

Event Description: The Office of International Programs and Student Life are planning to host the International Festival to celebrate multiculturalism and International month (October) on the Seton Hall University campus. We plan to bring 6 food trucks serving food from various cuisines (Korean, Mexican, French, Italian, etc.). Students will be given a voucher to receive 1 free entrée from one of the trucks. Furthermore, we plan on contracting cultural performances as well. In addition to the food trucks and performances, cultural student organizations will be tabling with different activities such as photos with backdrops and props, flag making, and other games.

Requesting: $2500

Breakdown of the Costs:

Food trucks (6 trucks): $4100 for 825 free vouchers/servings

$240 for food licensing permits ($40 per food truck)

$252 for fire permits ($42 per food truck)

Balloons: $330

Hodges (stages, tents, tables): $1700

Flags (400): $250

Cultural Backdrops: $115

Performances (3 acts): $2400

Supplies: $150

Total: $9500

Last year, the International Festival was a great success with approximately 800-1000 attendees. The event celebrated our multiculturalism and diversity on campus. The International Festival is a great way to kick-off International Month and other programs related to diversity ad Internationalism. The event will be open to all students, administrators, and staff in the Seton Hall community.
