PADS stands for Public Action to Deliver Shelter. PADS is a program within the“Journeys | The Road Home”organization which is a county-wide homeless support outreach effort based in Palatine.

Teens can help to socialize with elderly residents and help them to move around the facility for scheduled events. They are also looking for teens to play music (piano provided).

St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly, staffed by Little Sisters of the Poor, provides assistance as they minister to the elderly economically disadvantaged in Palatine.

PHD

PHD (Preservation for Human Dignity) affirms the value of the lives of women and families facing the issues of pregnancy and parenting by providing professional counseling, education, and support services to meet the unique practical and emotional needs of each individual.

Assist-A-Family

This program confidentially matches parish donor families, work groups, and Small Christian Communities with community and parish sharing families in need three times per year at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. A full meal is provided as well as gifts appropriate for the holiday. Items are collected on a Thursday approximately 2-3 weeks before the actual holiday and then distributed on Saturday morning.

Hospitality

The Hospitality ministry serves refreshments immediately following Mass on the weekends in our gathering space. This ministry also promotes community building as we gather to welcome guests, meet new friends and visit with familiar faces.

Ushering

You will be assigned to a team and need only attend usually once a month.Ushers help with seating and orderly movement of the faithful during liturgical services. Ushers also ensure the safety and comfort of the congregation, gather collections and conduct head counts. Head ushers work directly with mass coordinators and supervise ushers at weekend liturgies.
