Service Learning Project (HFHS)

DUE TUESDAY, MAY 23RD (EMAILED TO MR. SAIGH)

Presentations will take place on May 24th & May 31st

Definition: Learning from an experience of providing a service/job shadowing/volunteering. Taking the things you learned and sharing the information to make a better community.

1.Select a topic of interest to you and a partner. Topic must be relevant to health care.

2.Develop a timeline for completing your project.

3.Consider how your topic can apply to life in the community. For example, if your topic is smoking, you may want to present how smoking affects others in the community. Then share strategies to reduce smoking in your community. Include research to support your strategies and information.

4.Prepare a PowerPoint presentation (6 – 12 slide limit) on your topic. Define major concepts. Include strategies for community improvement, a diagram, graph and/or photo.

5.Give a 4-5 minute oral presentation to the group on your topic using your PowerPoint presentation.

6.Works cited in MLA is required as the last slide of your PowerPoint.
