TRUNK or TREAT: A fun parish event is scheduled for Saturday, November 1st, after Mass. Parishioners are invited to decorate their car trunks or pickup beds for Halloween (parking in the new parking lot). A Sign-up sheet is located is the vestibule on the bulletin board or in the back of church, or you may call Maureen Schumacher (277-9832) if you’d like to decorate a vehicle. Prizes will be given for the top three decorated vehicles. Parish children will trick or treat from car to car. Afterwards, the whole parish is invited to the parish hall for a Saint’s Festival to include a dinner of chili, hot dogs, corndogs, nachos, dessert, and drinks. If any parishioners would like to donate candy or Halloween trinkets for the trick or treating, you may drop these off in the Halloween basket in the vestibule.

A number of Masses are said during the course of the year for the current members of the purgatorial society. A donation is customary for those who can afford it. Extra envelopes are available in the vestibule.

.

The Youth Group will have game night

The Spanish Mass Choir would like to thank the anonymous donor for the money to purchase a guitar. We really appreciate your kindness and generosity.

Catholic Charities Annual Appeal 2008

St. Mary Church (2007) – 144 donors - $31,402.50

St. Mary Church (2008) – 110 donors - $20,849.00

St. Anthony Church (2007) – 6 donors - $445.00

St. Anthony Church (2008) – 9 donors - $1,560.00

Above please find the current status of our response to the 2008 Catholic Charities Appeal. As with the weekly support of the parish, our building fund, and major special collections such as Catholic Charities and ADF, most of our parishioners who are donating are doing so at a sacrificial level, but we have so many who do not participate in our building fund, our regular parish support, and special appeals such as Catholic Charities, ADF, and natural disasters. I ask everyone to pray that the work of the church at all levels will be done by all of our people by means of their generous tithing.
