SEQ timber bridge project

Scheduled works – September

Queensland Rail is replacing a series of rail bridges on the Ipswich to Rosewood line, in South East Queensland. Under this program, ageing timber bridges will be replaced with steel and concrete structures to improve reliability, operational safety and efficiency of services on the rail corridor.

Our previous notification advised of the mobilisation of a piling rig at Guilfoyles Gully from 18 August 2015 to facilitate construction activities. An overview of upcoming works is outlined below.

·  Vehicle movements and reversing beepers
Changes to the schedule have required these works to be extended through to 10 September 2015. The approved work hours of 7am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday still remains.
This work involves the use of heavy, loud machinery to facilitate the construction of the piling platform in preparation for the bridge replacement.
Access to site will be from Karrabin-Rosewood Road. Traffic management will be in place for the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
Nearby residents may experience some noise from truck movements and construction activities.
Queensland Rail is aware that such operations may cause temporary inconvenience to our valued neighbours. Every effort will be made to carry out these works with minimal disruption.
