From The East

It’s hard to believe that Summer is almost gone and Winter is just around the corner. Time is just flying by. September was a great month. We conferred our first 3rd Degree for this Masonic year on Paul Tunnell. The Lodge was opened and closed by our Worshipful Master, WBro. Dan Dickey, the degree was conferred by WBro. Bruce Vesper , Bro. Ray Shulz as Senior Warden , Bro. Tom Ardamica as Junior Warden and Bro. Mike Priddy performed the Senior Deacon’s part. It’s wonderful to see these Brothers taking such an active interest in the Lodge and watching them perform the esoteric work so well. We had some last minute substitutions so the Drama portion was not quite up to the standards we have set for our Degrees. With your help, especially all you newer members, we can create an in-depth Degree Team.

The Most Worshipful Grand Master of Free and Accepted Masons of Washington, MWBro. Doug Tucker, attended Richland Lodge on Sep15th for apresentation of the Hiram Award to Jerome Delvin and Larry Taylor.

We are on our way to establishing a Masonic Education program at Kennewick Lodge. Several Bro’s met on the 2nd of Sep. to start this off. The idea is to dedicate time each month to any Mason from any Lodge who wants to learn more about Masonry. Master Masons will be available to assist in opening and closing the Lodge, working on the Proficiency in Lodge Management and Entered Apprentices, Fellowcrafts and Master Masons needing to complete their Degree proficiency. Currently, we are using the second and forth Wednesdays of the month starting at 7:30 PM, when we are not conducting a degree. If you have any ideas on how we can make this a viable program, contact WBro. John Kimbrough or Bro. Tom Ardamica directly.

Fraternally,

WBro.Dan Dickey, Worshipful Master

EDUCATION – The Masons of Kennewick Lodge and the Grand Lodge of Washington see education as one of the cornerstones to an individual’s success as well as the success for our country. October is a busy month for us as we prepare for the Winter activities. Our local Bikes for Books program has had a significant impact on our elementary school kids and their ability to read. The Masons of Kennewick are making a difference in the community and in the lives of the kids. Be proud to be a Mason, you do make a difference.

Fraternally,

Bro. Ray Shulz, Senior Warden
