Mia Otey Memorial Fund Scholarship—This $800 scholarship is available to seniors who plan to further their education at a 4-year college, 2-year college or technical school. A minimum GPA is 3.00 to apply. Applicants must have participated in Fairfield sports all four years of high school. Applications must be returned to Mrs. Mangus before March 26, 2015. Applications are available in the guidance office.

James Kura Memorial Scholarship Contest—Sponsored by the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who will be attending a 4 year accredited college. The application is now available at The deadline is Tuesday, March 10, 2015.

Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education Foundation--$1,000 renewable scholarship for students having a career goal in the crude oil and natural gas industry, or related energy field. Applicants must attend an accredited Ohio college or Trace School and maintain a 2.5 GPA for renewal. Applications are available in the guidance office and must be returned no later than March 31, 2015.

Corp. for Ohio Appalachian Development—This is a need-based scholarship. Applications are available at and in the guidance office. The deadline is April 1, 2015.

Ripley Federal Savings Bank—This scholarship is for students majoring in business, economics, finance, or accounting with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due no later than March 27, 2015.

Buick Achievers Scholarship Program—For those who plan to attend a four-year college and major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or business with an interest in the automotive industry. Application is available at with a deadline of February 27, 2015.

NCB Money Matters Scholarship—Students must have a 3.0 or higher GPA and have completed the EverFi Financial Literacy online class. Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 1, 2015

Ernie B Blankenship Scholarship—Senior student athletes with a 2.75 GPA who have lettered in a sport during the senior year and who have taken the ACT are eligible to apply. Scholarships are available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 1, 2015.

Highland County Farm Bureau Scholarship—Parents or applicant must be a member of Highland County Farm Bureau to apply. Students must be entering a technical, 2-year or 4-year college and majoring in agriculture. Scholarships must be returned to the Farm Bureau by March 31, 2015.

The William D Squires Scholarship—This is a need-based scholarship for students with a 3.20 or higher GPA. Applications are available at and are due by April 6, 2015.

Southern State Community College Scholarships—One online application for many different scholarships available at SSCC. The deadline is March 15, 2015, however, they will begin looking at the applications and awarding $$$ sooner than the deadline. Go to click on the admissions section and find “Scholarships.” You will need to create a username and password. Once you have completed the application, you will need to provide Mrs. Mangus with your username and password to enable her to upload your transcript and letter of recommendation. Also, don’t forget to apply to SSCC. This is an online application found under admissions. Again, the deadline for SSCC scholarships is March 15, 2015.

Stivison Appalachian Community Action Scholarship—This scholarship is need-based. Your family income needs to be 200% of Poverty, typically if you qualify for free lunches (and possibly reduced lunches), you will qualify. The deadline for this scholarship is April 1, 2015. Applications are available in the guidance office.

C103 SHAC Scholarship—This scholarship is for students who participated in sports at Fairfield at the Varsity level. You will need to gather your stats and a letter of recommendation from your coaches. If you plan on applying for this scholarship, get started early. Applications are available in the guidance office and on the high school page of our website. The deadline is March 20, 2015.

Cassner Foundation Scholarship—This is a large, local scholarship worth $3,500 each year you are in college, up to four years. Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline is Friday, March 20, 2015.

Highland County 4-H Scholarships—You must be a current or former 4-H member. Applications are available in the guidance office. You must turn in your completed application to the Highland County Extension office before 4:00pm on February 19, 2015.

Darrell and Jane Tissot 4-H Endowment Fund Scholarship—One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a current Highland County 4-H member who is graduating. This scholarship may be renewed for the next three years. Applications are available in the guidance office. You must turn in your completed application to the Highland County 4-H office by February 19, 2015.

Highland County 4-H endowment scholarships—This is one application for several scholarships. The application is available in the guidance office. Completed applications must be turned in to the Higland County Extension Office on or before close of business on the third Thursday of February.

BGSU freshman biological sciences scholarship—This is available to incoming BGSU freshmen majoring in biology. Students who have applied and admitted to BGSU are eligible to apply. See Mrs. Mangus for a scholarship application. The deadline is February 13th, 2015.

National Co-op Scholarship Program—Scholarships available for students who will attend the following colleges: Clarkson University, State University of NY Oswego, Drexel University, UC, Johnson & Wales, UMass Lowell, Rochester Institute of Technology, The University of Toledo and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Mometrix College Scholarship essay contest—In order to enter, high school seniors must submit an essay of no more than 350 words telling about their favorite test preparation practices and why they work so well. Students may submit their essays between now and May 22, 2015 at the Mometrix scholarship page at Finalists for the scholarship awards will be selected by visitors to the website who will have a chance to vote for their favorite essay.

Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools Scholarships—Many scholarships available for seniors who will attend Career Colleges in Ohio such as Art Institutes, DeVry, Miami-Jacobs, American School of Technology, Beckfield College, Brown Mackie College, Daymar College, Lincoln College, Ohio Business College and others.
