Senior Financial Analyst
Job Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst will work with the Chief Financial Officer & Controller in the consolidation, analysis and interpretation of companywide financial and operating information. The job requires management of multiple projects, often under time constraints/deadlines. The individual must have strong analytical and communication skills and great attention to detail to assist the CFO/COO in areas of financial planning, financial analysis, business planning forecasting and budgeting. In addition, Colony is seeking individuals who take initiative, work well under pressure and have financial modeling experience in a multi-location environment. The ideal candidate will also have experience in mergers and acquisitions. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will be based from our Orange, CT headquarters.
May perform any or all of the following duties:
- Prepares and analyzes consolidated reporting at all levels of the organization on actuals, forecasts and prior fiscal year
- Performs analysis of operating expenses
- Responsible for developing financial modeling, financial statement analysis, decision modeling, reporting and ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives
- Create financial models for strategic planning and budget processes that simulate business operations and thought leadership
- Support, analyze and assist in the preparation and review of the company’s annual operating budget.
- Detailed support and analysis of the company’s revenue forecast and departmental budgets
- Detailed support and analysis of balance sheet forecasts and the associated cash flow forecasts
- Development of presentations to help summarize budget results in a comprehensive and easy to understand format
- Assists in the continued development of budgeting, financial forecasting, operating plan and modeling tools
- Analyzes actual operating results and identifies key financial and operating issues to be addressed. Is able to quantify actual results versus forecasts
- Participate in Due Diligence assignments, including assembling data room information, quality of earnings reviews and other management reviews
- May assist Controller with month end closing processes as needed
- Participate in special ad-hoc projects as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- BS in Accounting or Finance preferred. MBA a plus.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Distribution industry experience a plus
- Merger and acquisition experience a plus
- Should have advanced working knowledge of Accounting concepts, principals and practices
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in the Microsoft tool suite with advanced knowledge of developing, editing and maintaining databases, Excel (Pivot tables, formulas and macros) and MS PowerPoint (financial slides, charts and graphs)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
