News from the Guidance Department & Career Counselor

  • The website collegeboard.com provides useful information regarding financial aid, tips for students still in the process of applying to universities, and insight into situations where students may have been waitlisted or rejected by the university of their choice. Also visit and (access code XLNXQNVQ, select “student” as type of account. Create a username and password and begin using the site.).
  • For students planning to attend college, your goal should be to have all applications completed by Christmas break. The holidays will be less stressful.
  • Some students may benefit from a technical or two year college instead of the traditional four year university. Many of our former students have been very successful going this route. Seeking additional school beyond high school is highly recommended. Research shows that people with only a high school degree will earn $20,000 less a year than those completing additional training.
  • Anyone requiring additional information or help in completing applications, please stop in the guidance office.
  • Career Counselor, Mrs. Molitoris, would like to meet with every senior to discuss post high school plans including career options, which colleges offer programs a student is looking for, how to select the best school for each student, etc. Mrs. Molitoris is available to answer questions/offer help to any interested student or parent. Stop in room #123 or contact her via email .
