SENER will carry out the extension of the Zeebrugge LNG terminal in Belgium
Brussels, April 24, 2013 – Fluxys LNG N.V./ S.A. has awarded tothe engineering and construction group SENER a turnkey project for the extension of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in the Zeebrugge Port, 20 km away from Brugge(Belgium). SENER will carry out this project as part of the TS LNG joint venture, formed by SENER and Techint.
Representatives from Fluxys LNG, SENER and Techint signed the contract last April 18th at Fluxys LNG offices in Brussels.
The extension works will consist of adding a second jetty, enabling the facility to increase capacity and further develop into a hub for supplying LNG as fuel for ships and long-haul trucks.Once the construction works are over in mid-2015, the terminal will have an additional LNG loading/unloading capacity of 14,000 m3/hour.
Within the joint venture, SENERwill carry out all plant engineering activities, being also in charge for project management, procurement and construction, as well as for construction and commissioning management.
SENER, through its engineering and construction activity, specializes in turnkey projects in LNG plants, a sector in which it has carried out numerous projects both in Spain, Europe and Latin America.
SENER has carried out some of these projects as part of the TS LNG company, a joint venture between SENER and Techint that develops EPC contracts in the LNG sector. To date, TS LNG has been responsible for outstanding projects such as Gate terminal, in the Netherlands – an international reference in the regasification plants industry – and the Dunkirk terminal, in France.

About TS LNG
In 2007 Techint Engineering & Construction and SENER established the TS LNG joint-venture, a company specialized in turn-key projects for the LNG sector.
To date, TS LNG has been responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction management of the Gate terminal in the Netherlands, an outstanding reference in the regasification plants sector. After the start-up of the Gate terminal, carried out in consortium with the French Entrepose and Vinci (TSEV), TS LNG is currently working on a regasification plant in Dunkirk, France, and in the extension of the Zeebrugge regasification plant in Belgium.
