Individual participants must evaluate their abilities, know all the risks of outdoor activities associated with water sports, and personally assume these risks. See the Risk Assumption on the reverse side. Guests/non-members must read and sign this Risk Assumption before participating in club activities.

Risk Assumption

There are certain risks which are inherent in any canoe or kayak trip or other Seminole Canoe and Kayak Club, Inc. (“Club”) activity. The Club cannot ensure the safety of any participant on trips and activities. Each club member, guest or non-member participant agrees to accept personal responsibility for his or her safety and the safety of minors accompanying such persons. By participating in Club activities, each such person agrees to hold harmless and free from blame the Club, its activity leaders, coordinators, board of directors, officers and members for any accident, misfortune, injury or illness which might be sustained to person or property as a result of participation in trips or other club activities.

Each participant agrees to assume all responsibility for his/her own vehicle, equipment, and boat, and to provide necessary shoes, first aid supplies, water, food, suitable clothing for the weather to be encountered, and camping equipment required and all other items necessary for safe completion of the activity. Each participant further agrees to comply with all Federal and State boat safety regulations and to supply and properly use the necessary U.S. Coast Guard Approved personal flotation devices as may, from time to time, be required by Federal and/or State laws and regulations.

Participant shall determine that he/she (and any accompanying minors) has the ability and knowledge to safely complete the activity undertaken.

I have read this Risk Assumption document and understand its contents, the risks involved and the legal implications and agree to abide by its terms and conditions during the period of my membership and/or participation in any Club activities now and in the future.
