Secondary Schools Tennis Competitions

We offer Tennis Competitions for all schools and all levels! Great chance to give your pupils the opportunity to represent their school!! If your school has a link with a club or a coaching team then you can talk to them about which competitions are right for you!!!

Tennis Competition 1: Team Tennis Schools Y8 & Y10 Divisions 1 & 2

Local leagues leading to finals (Regional/National or Kent)

Organiser / Kent Tennis
Player Standard / Division 1 More suitable for advanced players (as a guide: club players with an 8.1 rating or higher)
Division 2 more suitable for less experienced players (as a guide: without a rating or 10.2-8.2 rating)
Player Format / 4 Players in a team, separate events for girl’s teams and boys teams
Events / Yellow Ball for year 7&8 and 9&10
Organisation / Singles and doubles matches starting in area leagues and culminating in either Regional/National finals (Division 1) or Kent finals (Division 2)
Scoring / Area matches - 1 full set each rubber

Division 2 Finals will be held on Tuesday 26th (Boys) and Wednesday 27th (Girls) June at Canterbury Lawn Tennis Club (Polo Farm Sports Club) in conjunction with the School Games
Cost / FREE (ENTRY CLOSES ON 17th JANUARY 2018)

Tennis Competition 2: Kent Inter Schools Knockout

Area League leading to County Finals

Organiser / Pat Braam, Kent Tennis, local matches leading to Finals
Player Standard / 4 players in a team, separate events for girl’s teams and boys teams
Player Format / Open to everyone – less experienced through to advanced
Events / Junior Yellow ball (Year 8 & below)
Intermediate Yellow ball (Year 9 & below)
Senior Yellow ball (Years 10-13)
Organisation / Once the draw is made you will be informed of your opponent, whether you are home or away and the date by which the match should be completed, culminating in county finals for the team who has won their way through to this stage. Each match will consist of 6 rubbers - 4 singles and 2 doubles
Scoring* / Knockout stage - 1 full set for each rubber, Finals – 2 full sets with championship tie-break as third set

One day event for Boys and Girls

Player Format / 2 players in a team, separate events for girl’s teams and boys teams

Intermediate Yellow ball (Years 9-10)
Organisation* / Doubles matches starting in round robin boxes leading to knockout draws
