As a new graduate from the prestigious Institute of Education, University of Warwick secondary PGCE, I wish to enter a role where either I can work tirelessly and professionally to either introduce Mandarin Chinese into a school or work closely with other MFL and subject area staff to better integrate Chinese into the MFL department and subject areas. I strongly believe in collegiate working relationships with the broader community. I am particularly interested in MFL – ICT – Chinese connections as a way of improving the quality of provision of teaching of Chinese. I enjoy building relationships between the local Chinese community and the school I am working within as well as relationships between the school and China to allow children to understand how to create productive relationships with peers in China as a life long habit.

·  Helped introduce new spoken-only GCSE

·  Worked with Chinese teacher to develop and provide training for local primary feeders on adapting new KS2 Scheme of Work for Mandarin Chinese, integrating 5 Chinese days into the school year

·  Developed use of podcasting for home practise and shared method and insights with MFL department

·  Created a ‘Climate change and China’ resource pack for Geography teacher

·  Initiated, organised and managed a Tai Chi after school club

·  Partnered with a local business exporting engineering parts to China inviting the CEO to talk to students at a careers event

·  Ran a KS2 after school Chinese club at a local primary school that was over-subscribed
