Seattle United Board of Directors Statement and Nomination

Acceptance of Nomination

I formally accept my nomination to the Seattle United Board of Directors.

Statement

I have enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of Seattle United over the past two years as a member of the Board of Directors and am excited by the prospect of continuing my service for another term.

As a lifelong soccer player, and father of a Seattle United player, I continue to be amazed at the opportunities the club creates for young players. When I started playing, our coaches were moms and dads who knew little about the game, but were willing to give a few hours a week so we could run around chasing the ball. We copied conditioning drills from the youth football teams and relished the rare opportunity to catch a game on TV. Today, through Seattle United, our kids have access to some of the best coaching available anywhere, and the training opportunities are seemingly endless.

Serving on the SU board has been a great chance to combine my love for the game with my volunteer and non-profit board leadership experience. I have spent the last 11+ years leading an organization focused on creating college- and career-ready students through the delivery of impactful classroom and professional experiences. I have personally mentored dozens of students and seen them grow to be successful and productive professionals. Whether in school, the workplace or on the soccer pitch, there is nothing more personally rewarding than to see a young person realize their potential and achieve their goals.
