Project Title: Seismic Upgrades at Salmon Bay School & Decatur School

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS:

Sealed Bids will be received by Seattle Public Schools (“SPS” or “Owner”) through and including

2:00p.m. on March 30, 2016at the Seattle Public Schools’ John Stanford Center, Contracting Services Section, 2445 Third Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98134 for Seismic Upgrades at Salmon Bay School & Decatur School. The work will include, but not be limited to:1) Salmon Bay: seismic upgrades to select areas of existing exterior brick veneer,to a portion of existing concrete roof slab,to existing wood posts in attic, to be completed during summer 2016.Seismic upgrades to one side of select corridor walls on the three floors of the building, to be completed during summer 2017. 2)Decatur: seismic upgrades to select portions of existing interior walls, and to select portions of existing masonry walls, scheduled to commence October 3, 2016 in unoccupied building. The cost range is $3,000,000 to $3,250,000.Prior to 3:00 p.m. on such date, bidders shall submit bids on alternates and subcontractors. Shortly after 3:00 p.m. bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the day and hour stated above will not receive consideration. Owner reserves the right to postpone the Bid opening.

The Project sites are available for inspection by prospective bidders at a pre-bid site meeting and walk-through beginning at 3:30 p.m.on Tuesday, March10, 2016,at Salmon Bay K-8 School, located at 1810 NW 65th Street, Seattle, WA 98117 for approximately one (1) hour and continuing at approximately 5:00 p.m. at Decatur School (at Thornton Creek School site), located at 7711 43rd Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98115. Bid documents, associated addenda and Bidders List are available at no charge at Builders Exchange of Washington, Inc. 2. Reprographic Outlet

General contractors may pickup a maximum of two (2) complete sets of Bidding Documents, and mechanical and electrical subcontractors may obtain one (1) complete set of the Bidding Documents for a refundable deposit of $150.00 per set, by business or cashier’s check only, made payable to Seattle Public Schools at the office of:
