News

Valencia:

·  Hope to complete OTE around 18 Jan.

Rails:

·  4 Short Rails are awaiting machining.

Heater Pads:

·  John will check with Richard the location of the Gerber files.

·  The Inserts to hold Pads also insulate the cold bolts through to the SC. Will insulate with foam rings.

·  Steve McM will check Pads and give OK to Marko.

Membranes:

·  Martin has made all G&S Membranes, now doing Gas Membranes.

·  Stress relief proving non-trivial to realise.

Disc Shunt Shield:

·  Will ship Prototype quadrant (3.5-4.0 mm thick) which Martin has made to Tim.

·  Tim would like design of Peek caps asap and to test a panel electrically in Jan.

STFT:

·  Stiffener: just requires mod to holes.

Heater Pad Wiring:

·  John has considered routing up to RCT. Needs ~1 weeks work.

Orders:

·  Place order for Inserts for Rear Flange (3 types) when Stiffener agreed.

·  Need Al screws for Inserts for RTE – wait until more complete list of fixtures from John.

·  About to place order for Peek nuts for Rails – John to chase.

·  Airex order placed.

·  CF for Stiffener order placed.

Priorities (in order of importance)

John

1.  Chase order for Peek Nuts.

2.  Disc Shunt Shield: design Peek caps – when get info from Lpool.

3.  Check envelope of Inserts on Front Support.

4.  Complete Stiffener drawings for Martin to check.

5.  Complete G&S design & assembly.

·  Connection of Membrane to OTE in presence of Heaters – mind the gap ? Identify location of Pads.

·  Extend ITE foil.

6.  Inventory of Fixtures.

7.  Import Heater Pad Gerber files into Model.

8.  Produce drawings of Heater Pad wiring, from Pads to PPF1, for Steve McM.

9.  Release drawings.

10.  In-fill pieces for STFT around Cooling: make mods for DCS; get made.

11.  ITE Clamps: make mods to for N2 delivery; get modified.

12.  Help Jason (2 days of work before end-Feb).

13.  Copy drawings to CDD.

Martin

1.  Test stress relief in Membranes.

2.  Send Disc Shunt Shield Prototype to Tim, along with some Cu-Kapton foil (~A4) and some Al clips.

3.  Send LMT Cooling parts to Nikhef in New Year.

4.  Produce Membranes: 3 Front gas.

5.  Provide Foil for under thermistors on Heater Pads: 250 times 2 cm ´ 2cm.

6.  Produce Disc Shunt Shields.

7.  Tool for lifting Front Membranes.

8.  Check STFT Stiffener drawings.

9.  Produce STFT Stiffeners – need CF.

Stephen

1.  Check Shunt Shiled can in principle be inserted through Stub Supports.

2.  Understand grade of Airex used.

3.  Organise a drink in New Year.

4.  Consider shipping ITE#2 & Wings to CERN.

Richard

1.  Come up with connections for Heater Pads in series.

Valencia & CERN

1.  Return Foam (probably) when finished.

Task List for Thermal Enclosure

SH 21 Dec 05

OTE

·  Drawing [JN, by 4 Mar; checked by Steve Carr]

·  Gasket design [JN, wb 7 Mar]

·  Procure materials [JN,PF]

·  Dry Airex

·  Alochrome or Ni-plate for Al [observe Barrel]

·  Manufacture CF Flanges & Ultem Inserts

·  Tests

o  Test stiffness and deformation.

o  Test with Short Test Cylinder (STC), by putting some simple adjustable rails on.

o  Test a prototype OTE band on End-cap using production Rails; check Service clearance.

RTE

·  Drawings & Work Instructions (understand how to make holes)

·  Ship Airex & Kapton to CERN – don’t ship Rear Support Panel (need to modify for Alignment targets)

·  Manufacture Top Hat Just need small additions.

·  Manufacture Inserts

·  Resolve G&S connection with ITE

ITE

·  Test Channel with Kapton

·  N2 Holes [PF]

·  Design filter [JN]

·  Support for assembly [where can this be tested?]

·  Drawings & Work Instructions

·  Ship Airex, Kapton & Foil to CERN

Heaters

·  Discuss with Marko Mikuz.

Rails

·  Check Drawings [JN]

·  Some concern about precision of Inserts – good to test the pre-production Rail on SC in Lpool.

·  Decide number of Rails on how floppy the prototype is.

·  Two types of Rail designed: over Fixations need cut-outs.

·  Manufacture

LMT Cooling

·  Foil design

·  Clip design – in discussion with Jason

·  Assembly instructions

·  Manufacture of Foils, extra Clips (for LMT Cooling Pipes)
