FAITH FORMATION:

Lent starts this Wednesday, February 25th, with Ash Wednesday. Rice Bowls were sent home with the youngest member of each family to use during Lent. Inside the rice bowl is a Lenten Calendar and information about the countries focused on weekly and a new inexpensive recipe to try with your family. Besides the youngest member, the rice bowls were given to students in 7th grade through 12th grade for their individual donations.

Thanks to all parishioners lending a helping hand after the recent tornado to those affected in the Lone Grove & Majestic Hills area. The Youth Group and Boy Scout Troop 112 went to Lone Grove last weekend to help clean up.

OPERATION RICE BOWL: As part of our faith community's Lenten observance, we will participate in Catholic Relief Services' Lenten program, Operation Rice Bowl. The program has inspired Catholic to pray, fast, learn and give as we increase our understanding of our global community. Rice bowls are available in the vestibule of the church if your family did not receive one in Faith Formation classes.

VOCATION JOTTINGS 2009—5

It was a pleasure for me to talk with the high school young men about Vocations this past Sunday morning. It is a subject we must take seriously, our very faith is so dependent on those who will heed the call and follow in Christ’s footsteps. For those interested in the bus trip to Conception seminary, I must hear from you this weekend, my phone number is 580-226-1507. This is the last jottings message until June.

Remember that prayer is an important tool in determining whatever vocation you wish to pursue.

So long for now………………….
