21 April 2015– THORPE PARK Resort and Tri Project will once again join forces to host aseries of triathlons like no other across May, July and September 2015. Just 30 minutes from London, the nation’s thrill capital is an extraordinary race venue and a must do race for both newcomers and experienced triathletes.
Since the first triathlon in September 2013, organisers have seen demand grow from strength to strength, with race competitor numbers increasing rapidly. This one of a kind event gives triathletes the opportunity to experience a varied triathlon course all to the back drop of the UK’s most exhilarating theme park.
Race Director, Matt Chapman commented:
“The triathlons have been a huge success and we are pleased to be able to offer the three races this year. We have had extremely positive feedback from previous competitors who love ending the race on a high in the centre of the Resort and we hope to provide them with more memorable experiences this year.”
With two sprint distance races as well as a longer Olympic distance triathlon, there is something for everyone. Starting at 7am, athletes will make a splash as they swim one lap of THORPE PARK Resort’s island in Fleet Lake, who’s clear waters make for great swim visibility. Once back on dry land, competitors will exit the Resort on two wheels as they take a tour of the surrounding villages before dropping the bikes back at the hub. For the final leg of the race, athletes will follow the scenic lakeside path until they are back into the heart of the Resort crossing the finish line.
