WHY SHOULD YOUR SCHOOL RECEIVED GRANT FUNDING?

By submitting this application, you are hereby obligating the School District to defend, indemnify, and hold the Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District (FMFCD) and its Directors, officers, employees, and volunteers harmless from and against any and all claims relating to this grant or FMFCD's performance of the Project, including, but not limited to, claims for personal injury, property damage, wrongful death, economic loss, and taking of property.

If approved for funding by the FMFCD Board of Directors, FMFCD agrees to fund a field trip for the School at Scout Island. Funding includes payment of the Scout Island docent fees and transportation costs. Scout Island fees will be paid directly to the Fresno County Office of Education by FMFCD. Upon receipt of the invoice for the transportation from the School, FMFCD will submit payment to the School District or private bus company within 2 weeks. If the transportation costs have been paid by the School, FMFCD will reimburse the School within 2 weeks.

Once approved, the School is responsible for contacting Matt Stewart from Scout Island at (559) 497-3828 or to schedule a field trip. The School is required to schedule a presentation with FMFCD to receive grant funding. The presentation will include information on local water resources, the water cycle and stormwater pollution prevention. Contact Kristine Johnson at (559) 456-3292 or to schedule the presentation.
