Presenting at the SSCC17–Abstract Form & Guidance

Would you like to share your work at the national conference?

The conference planning group invitesyou to showcase your work and welcomesabstracts from all specialists, practitioners, and researchers around the themes below. We’re looking for creative, new and challenging practicefrom across Scotland on how you have empowered smokers to quit or improved your service, presented in a way that suits you, i.e. a poster, a parallel presentation (15-20mins) or a ‘local action’ speed presentation (5 minutes). It is preferred that your abstract covers theresults and impact of your work, as well as key learning.

Wewelcome submissions on the following themes:

  1. Increasing reach and success, particularly with priority groups (young people, pregnant women, those in prison/hospital,people experiencing mental health problems or living in deprived areas)
  2. Improving processes within smoking cessation services
  3. Preventing young people from starting to smoke
  4. Smoke-free environments.

Please note that we will not accept submissions of work that has been funded by or has any link to the tobacco industry.

Deadline for receipt of abstracts is 25 August 2017. Completed forms should be sent electronically to:

Abstracts must adhere to these guidelines and will be assessed by the Planning Group.

Forms will be acknowledged on receipt (by email).

Following the Planning Group’s review, everyone will be notified in September 2017.
