Level 4 /
  • Met goal of 60 min. or more of PA* per day on at least 6 days per week.
  • Gradually increased activity time and reached goal by the end of a 12-week period.
  • Activities involved a balance of moderate and high-intensity levels.
  • Participated in PA outside of school.
  • Participated in PA on at least one weekend day.

  • Completed all areas required on the log form for at least 6 days per week and for 12 weeks total by end of the semester.
  • Demonstrated an understanding of how to overcome personal obstacles to regular participation in PA.

Level 3 /
  • Met goal of 60 min. of PA per day on at least 5 days per week
  • Most PA was at least moderate intensity.
  • Participated in some PA outside of school.

Level 2 /
  • Generally participated in < 30 to 60 min of PA on at least 4 days per week.

  • Participated in some PA each week outside of Physical Education class.

  • Demonstrated a recognition of personal obstacles to regular PA but did not develop strategies to over come them.

Level 1 /
  • Participated in at least 30 min of PA per day 2 to 4 days per week.
  • Intensity levels of PA were low to moderate.
  • PA participation was limited to Physical Education class
  • Little effort was given to participation.
