Working together as partners in education, parents canhelp teachers maximize the learning process whilereducing test anxiety and stress. The simple formula

for helping students to do their best is spelled

S-U-C-C-E-S-S!

Serve children a balanced breakfast before a test:foods which are high in protein ( e.g., eggs, cheese, milk, peanut butter, etc.).

Understand the importance of tests and make surechildren are prepared, present and on time .

Carefully work with children to make sure that theyunderstand how to read and follow directions.

Provide practice opportunities through homework,review sheets, board games, etc.

Conference with your child’s teacher to find out whatyou can do to help your child prepare for tests.

Expect the best from your child and let them know thatyou are proud of them.

Stress the importance of going to bed early

and getting plenty of rest the night

before a test.

Start the day on a positive note.

Remember that hugs and praises

are powerful ways to start

your child’s day!
