Snoqualmie Valley Parent Involvement Policy

Two Rivers School

Two Rivers Secondary Schoolis committed to the goal of providing quality education for every child in this district. To this end, we want to establish partnerships with parents and with the community. Everyone gains if school and home work together to promote high achievement by our students; neither can do the job alone. Parents play an extremely important role in their student’s learning.

We recognize that some students may need the extra assistance available through the Title I program to reach the state’s high academic standards. Two Rivers Secondary Schoolintends to include parents and families as partners in all aspects of the school’s Title I program.

Our school parental involvement policy is examined, revisedand distributed to parents of participating students at the annual Parent Title I meeting. These meetings are held in the evenings, at the specific Title I school, with free babysitting provided.During our annual meeting, parents are provided with a description and explanation of the curriculum in use at the school, the assessments used to identify students and the proficiency levels they are expected to meet. An example of a school-parent compact will be shared, and the shared responsibility of both parents and the entire school staff will be emphasized. School-parent compacts will be shared and signed at monthly conferences, along with a progress report.
