  1. The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development David Stivinson Appalachian Community Action Scholarship—Students must reside in a household with a total annual income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines and show proof of acceptance by an accredited 2-year or 4-year institution of higher education.   2. The Highland County Republican Women’s Club is pleased to announce the Margaret Van Frank Scholarship to be awarded to a Highland County senior this year. The nonrenewable scholarship for $500 is open to all Highland county students in the 12th grade who are planning on continuing their education after graduation. This includes, but is not limited to, four-year and two-year institutions, as well as vocational and technical programs. Details about the scholarship are included on the application. Students may download the application form in order to complete it on a computer, then print it off to send in, or they may complete a form by printing in black or blue ink before mailing.   3. The Summer Superstart scholarship program returns for this summer for qualifying 2016 graduates where students can earn up to 6 semester hours free! The Superstart application is available at and deadline is May 1st.

  1. Anthony Munoz Foundation Straight “A” Scholarship - This scholarship awards high school students who are pursuing Academic excellence, Athletic Achievement, is Actively serving in the community while possessing a strong Ambition, a winning Attitude and the ability to overcome Adversity. Eighteen Tri-State students, nine male and nine female, will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship. One male and one female from these top eighteen students, will have a chance to receive an additional $3,000 at our recognition luncheon.   2. Anthony Munoz Foundation Scholarship – Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA or a minimum composite ACT score of 18, demonstrate a desire and intent to overcome adversity, have financial need, excel academically, and fulfill a leadership role in the community. Last year a Lynchburg student won one of these scholarships. Apply at by April 30, 2016
  3. Ripley Federal Saving Bank Scholarship—Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and majoring in business, economics, finance, or accounting. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due on March 25, 2016.
  4. Mia Otey Memorial Fund Scholarship—Applicants must be planning to further their education at a 4-year college, 2-year college, or a technical school. Students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and have participated in Fairfield athletics for at least two varsity seasons in high school. Applications are available on the Fairfield HS website and in the guidance office. Completed applications must be submitted to the guidance office before March 18, 2016.
  5. David Watts Memorial Scholarship—Fairfield seniors with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 – 3.5 and who have been accepted to a college, community college or technical school are eligible to apply. Applications are available in the guidance office and the school website. Applications are due to the guidance office by March 31st.
  6. Buick Achievers Scholarship Program—Applicants must plan to enroll full time at a four-year college next year and major in a specified course of study focused on engineering, technology or design, with an interest in the automotive industry.   7. Aspiring Nurse Scholarship--$1,000 scholarship available to seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN/LVN, ADN and BSN programs. Apply at and click the banner on the right-hand side of the website’s homepage. Applications must be submitted by midnight on June 30, 2016.
  8. Ohio Newspapers Minority Foundation Scholarship—This scholarship is intended for Ohio high school seniors planning to major in a field relevant to the newspaper industry, particularly journalism, advertising, marketing, or communications at an Ohio college or university during the 2016-2017 academic year. One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded. Applications are available in the guidance office and must be mailed before March 31, 2016.
  9. William Squires Educational Foundation Scholarship—15 renewable scholarships of $3,000 per year are being offered. This is a need based scholarship. The EFC on your FAFSA student aid report (SAR) must be less than 8,000 to apply. Applicants must already know their career goal, be highly motivated and have good character with a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA.   10. NCB Money Matters Scholarship—A copy of your NCB Money Matters Financial Literacy Program completion certificate and a minimum cum. 3.0 GPA is necessary. This is a program Mr. Mosny uses in some of his classes. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline April 1st, 2016.
  11. Ernie B. Blankenship Athletic Scholarship—Senior athletes in Highland and Clinton Counties with a minimum cum. 2.75 GPA who lettered in a sport during the senior year may apply. Applicants must have taken the ACT. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline April 1st, 2016

  13. American Welding Society Scholarships – Scholarships available for students enrolling in a certified welding program. Go to for more information and click on Scholarship Application System to apply. The deadline is March 1, 2016.
  14. BGSU Data Science Scholarships - $5,000 scholarships available to incoming freshmen who declare a major in the new specialization in Data Science. Students will study calculus, computer science, statistical learning and statistical graphics. To learn more to go

  16. Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools’ OhioLEADS Scholarships—There are 200+ scholarships available ranging from $1,000 to $11,750. Schools participating: American School of Technology, Brown Mackie College, Bryant & Stratton College, Chamberlain College of Nursing, Cleveland Institute of Dental-Medical Assistants, Davis College, ETI Technical College of Niles, Fortis College, Gallipolis Career College, Global Tech Institute,Healing Arts Institute, International College of Broadcasting, Oakland Park School of Technology, Ohio Business College, Ohio Institute of Allied Health, Ohio Valley College of Technology, Stautzenberger College, and Trumbull Business College. ESPY Game Changers Scholarship—Criteria: 3.0 cumulative GPA with no lower than a 2.7 in any grading period; 25 hours of community service per grading period or 50 hours by year’s end; Commitment to an athletic team recognized by OHSAA.   18. Wright State University ROTC – Many paths are available to earn a degree while working towards receiving a commission as an officer in the US Army, US Army Reserve and the US Army National Guard. This scholarship includes tuition and all required fees, $1,200 per year for books, a monthly tax-free tiered stipend starting at $300 for freshman that increases each subsequent year with seniors receiving $500 per month during the school year.
