APPLICABLE ONLY FOR STUDENTS WHO STARTED THEIR COURSE BEFORE THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2012/3 UNDER THE ‘OLD’ FUNDING SYSTEM (Students who are paying the fee of £3,465 2012/3)

Scholarship for academic progress (UK/EU full-time undergraduate students)

In line with its commitment to encourage progression and to reward success, Anglia Ruskin will provide a non-repayable, non means-tested scholarship to full-time UK/EU undergraduate students on HEFCE or TDA funded courses who pay the full fee of £3,465 fee (2012/13)

Students who receive the full(£2,984) Maintenance Grant or Special Support Grant and pay the full fee (£3,465 for academic year 2012/13) will additionally be eligible for the Mantatory Bursary of £347 (2012/13)

NB: Students who have all or part of their fees paid by a Government funding body (eg NHS), are not eligible for this Scholarship award.

Student who started September 2009 onwards

1. Students studying at Anglia Ruskin campuses at ChelmsfordCambridge

An award of £500 a year will be paid to eligible students via the Anglia Ruskin Aspire Card, subject to successful progression from the first semester into the second semester and completion of the‘Scholarship Confirmation of Eligibility’ task in Semester 2. You do not need to apply for the Anglia Ruskin Aspire Scholarship as we will automatically contact you, via your student email account, at the start of your second semester with us if you do potentially meet the eligibility criteria.
Once the money is loaded onto your Aspire Scholarship Account, the scholarship funds can then be used to support your learning experience.

The Aspire Scholarship is a way of helping students who are eligible for the Anglia Ruskin scholarship with the financial aspects of studying. The scheme is intended to help you make the very best of your time at the University by improving access to the tools you need to support your studies.Your scholarship funds can be used to purchase books, stationary, laptops, computer consumables and other learning materials from John Smith's bookshops at either the Cambridge or Chelmsfordcampus or online at

Additionally, students will be able to elect to pay for nursery and accommodation fees in Anglia Ruskin run facilities.

Payment will be released onto your Aspire account, after you have completed the ‘Scholarship Confirmation of Eligibility’ Task on your e:Vision account, on the following dates

September/October starters

You will be asked to complete the‘Scholarship Confirmation of Eligibility’ task in your e:Vision account between 28thJanuary 2013 and 10thFebruary 2013to confirm your eligibility. Payment will be released into your Aspire Accountat the end of February 2013.

February starters

You will be asked to complete the‘Scholarship Confirmation of Eligibility’ task in your e:Vision account between 1st October 2013and 27thOctober 2013to confirm your eligibility. Payment will be released into your Aspire account in the middle of November 2013.

Failure to complete the ‘Scholarship Confirmation of Eligibility’ task between these dates may result in non payment of the award.

Students studying at one of our Regional Partner Colleges will be eligible for the same Scholarship amount (£500). As John Smith Bookshop only has a physical presence on the 2 main Anglia Ruskin campuses the payment will continue to be made under the pre 2009/10 academic year Anglia Ruskin Scholarship scheme. Payment will be made in 2 instalments each year and will be paid into your bank account.

Thefirst payment of £250 will be made subject to successful progression and completion of the‘Scholarship Confirmation of Eligibility’ task. The second payment (£250) will be made upon sucessfully completing all required credit for the academic year. You do not need to apply for the Anglia RuskinScholarship, as we will automatically contact you, via your student email account, at the start of your second semester with us if you do potentially meet the eligibility criteria.

Payment will be made twice a year

September/October starters

You will be asked to complete the‘Scholarship Confirmation of Eligibility’ task in your e-vision account between 28thJanuary 2013 and 10thFebruary 2013to confirm your eligibility.1st payment will be made at the end of February2012.

If you achieve the required credits the 2nd payment will be automatically paid at the end of August 2013.

February starters

You will be asked to complete the‘Scholarship Confirmation of Eligibility’ task in your e-vision account between 1st June 2013 and 1st July 2013to confirm your eligibility.1st payment will be made at the end of August 2013.

If you achieve the required credits the 2nd payment will be automatically paidat the end of March 2013.

Students who started before the 2009/10 academic year

Students studying at Anglia Ruskin campuses at Chelmsford & Cambridge

Students who started their course before the 2009/10 academic year and therefore come under the Anglia Ruskin Cash back Scholarship schememay opt in to the Aspire scheme if they wish. To opt in please go to the John Smith Bookshop on campus. Otherwise pre 2009/10 students will continue to receive their Scholarship under the previous Anglia Ruskin Cash back Scholarshipscheme. The first payment of £250 will be made subject to successful progressionand completion of the‘Scholarship Confirmation of Eligibility’ task. Anglia Ruskin Aspire scheme

If you have opted in to the Anglia Ruskin Aspire scheme the full Scholarship of £500 will be released after you have completed the ‘Scholarship Confirmation of Eligibility’ Task on your e:Vision account, on the following dates.

September/October starters

Mandatory Top Up Bursary

Students who receive the full(£2,984) Maintenance Grant or Special Support Grant and pay the full fee (£3,465 for academic year 2012/13) will additionally be eligible for the Mantatory Top Up Bursary of £347 (2012/13).

You will receive a letter form Student FinanceEngland / Wales / N.Ireland telling you if you are entitled to the full Higher Education Maintenance Grant or Special Support Grant. You MUST provide a copy of this letter to our Scholarship & Bursary Office at the earliest opportunity. No Mandatory Bursary payment will be made to you if we do not receive the required documentation.
