Our culture of inclusion is an essential part of Bracewell's strength as a strategic partner. We regularly partner with clients on programs that promote our joint interests in retaining and developing women and minority attorneys.

SCHOLARSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Bracewell's success ultimately depends on developing exceptional legal talent. The firm is committed to attracting and retaining the finest lawyers from all backgrounds and perspectives. Through the LSAT Preparation Inclusion Scholarship and the Law Preview Scholarship, Bracewell works to increase the pool of racially and ethnically diverse legal candidates. Moreover, by playing an active role in this initiative, Bracewell also increases its visibility among candidates at an early stage in their legal careers, thereby strengthening its recruiting efforts.

LSAT Preparation Inclusion Scholarship

The LSAT Preparation Inclusion Scholarship targets college juniors and seniors who are interested in attending law school. Bracewell annually awards scholarships for students to take the LSAT Preparation course given by the Princeton Review.

Bracewell & Giuliani Law Preview Scholarship

Bracewell has partnered with Law Preview to provide the Bracewell & Giuliani Law Preview Scholarship. This partnership provides scholarships to racially and ethnically diverse candidates who have been accepted into law school at the University of Houston Law Center. Law Preview is the nation’s largest law school prep course for incoming law students and teaches students what to expect and how to succeed in law school.

Joint Diversity Fellowship Program

As an additional pipeline initiative, Bracewell developed its first Joint Diversity Fellowship Program in our Seattle office. This program identifies stellar 1L minority law school candidates to spend four weeks at Bracewell and four weeks at a client. Not only does the candidate gain a variety of experience but the initiative also strengthens relationships with clients who are committed to diversity as well.

With the success of the first year of the program, Bracewell decided to expand the program for the coming years.

WOMEN'S INITIATIVES

Women are involved in every facet of Bracewell's leadership. The firm is proud to have women serving on the management committee, as office managing partners, on key firm committees, and as relationship managers for top clients. Bracewell has implemented a path to partnership that allows for flexible work hours and paid leave, while supporting the professional activities needed for attaining partnership. This program has been effective at retaining women lawyers and helping them balance the responsibilities of family, legal practice, partnership, and top management positions within the firm. Our women's initiative committee provides support to women in their legal careers and management activities within the firm. The firm also provides a professional business development coach to work with selected young women partners.

The firm extended leave from 12 weeks to 18 weeks for the primary caretaker of the child. The non-primary caretaker of the child can also take leave for two weeks.

Bracewell has been recognized by local and national organizations for making diversity and inclusion an integral part of our work environment. We believe the various awards and elected positions our attorneys have been recognized with is testament to our dedication to inclusion as a firm as well as our attorneys' commitment to promote inclusion both within Bracewell and within the community.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT & SPONSORSHIPS

Whether professional or charitable, involvement in community organizations is a priority to Bracewell and our attorneys. The firm and our employees offer time, resources and professional services to many civic, charitable and cultural endeavors.

Our commitment to the communities where we work and live includes volunteer opportunities, sponsorships, participation in panels and events, and many other means of involvement. Youth and educational organizations, health care initiatives and the arts are just a few of the areas we feel strongly about promoting through our community involvement efforts.
