Scheme of Work/Lesson Planner

Scheme of Work for: OCR Administration (Business Professional) Level 2 – Unit 10Teamwork in Administration 2011/12)

Teacher:Ann-Marie SkillGroup/Level: 2Department: Business Services Duration: 22 weeks

Context: This qualification is designed for learners intending to use administrative skills in the workplace. The learners have 2 lessons a week a 1.5 hour lesson on a Monday morning and a 1 hour lesson on a Wednesday morning.

Aims:The aim of this unit is to enable learners to work effectively in teams to achieve set objectives. The tasks have been designed to enable learners to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and understanding of professional administration in the business world. Learners will have the opportunity to work in a team to carry out the administrative tasks related to organising an event. Learners will work in a team to plan the team working, will work with others to produce the administrative tasks and review their own performance.

Assessment Objectives:The learner will complete an assignment which consists of 4 tasks which are sent off for moderation in July.

Textbooks/main resources used: Administration OCR Certificate Level 2 book by Carol Carysforth.

Enrichment: The learners will participate in work experience placements around college and also within outside organisations to help them to practice the skills they’re learning in class.

Equality and Diversity: I say to my learners that we’ve got to have a circle of trust, some have made statements on their initial learner profile about having weaknesses, I want to help and give them strategies to improve. I talk to learners about always respecting one another, so students are encouraged to share their ideas and work together to improved their learning. We discuss males and females working in administration, I ask guest speakers from different backgrounds to come to talk to the students. Assessment procedures, criteria and regulations that are published in a full and accessible form are freely available to my learners via our iLearn page. I always endeavour to give feedback to my learners in a sensitive manner. When organising work experience we make sure that all learners are happy to be placed and looked after when they’re there. Both book resources use names reflecting diversity within given tasks. Resources, images and text are available that include, acknowledge and value people from a wide variety of origins, geographical areas, genders, disabilities, ages, sexuality and religion or beliefs. Images and texts used try to challenge stereotypes.
