SCHEDULE FOR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS
August 31st, 2016
Dear Parents of Kindergarten Students:
Welcome to Chief Tomat Elementary School. We are looking forward to working with our new students in September.
All kindergarten students are introduced gradually to the classroom times and routines. For this "gradual entry", the classes have been divided into mini-sessions, which will be held during the first week of school. The following information outlines the mini-sessions and the kindergarten schedule for the first two weeks of school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the school at 250-870-5127. Our school office will be open beginning August 29thfrom 8:30am – 2:30pm.
September 6th
Classes begin for everyone, except Kindergarten.
September 7th
- Mini Groups A & B attend in the morning from 9:00 – 10:30 am
- Mini Groups C & D attend in the afternoon from 12:30 – 2:00 pm
- Parents will be asked to say goodbye to their child at the classroom door
- Please send with your child a snack, a backpack, and a pair of running shoes to stay at school (no laces please).
September 8th
- Mini Group CD attend in the morning from 9:00 – 10:30 am
- Mini Group AB attend in the afternoon from 12:30 – 2:00 pm
- Parents will be asked to say goodbye to their child at the classroom door
- Please send with your child a snack, a backpack, and a pair of running shoes to stay at school (no laces please).
- Students and Parents are asked to arrive at and leave from their designated doors.
September 9th
- No Kindergarten classes today.
September 12th
- Mini Groups B & D attend in the morning from 8:30 – 11:10 am
- Mini Groups A & C attend in the morning from 8:30 – 11:10 am
- Parents will be asked to say goodbye to their child at the classroom door
- Please send with your child a snack, a backpack, and a pair of running shoes to stay at school (no laces please).
- Students and Parents are asked to arrive at and leave from their designated doors.
September 13th
- Mini Group B & D attend in the afternoon from 12:10 – 2:30 pm
- Mini Group A C attend in the afternoon from 12:10 – 2:30 pm
- Parents will be asked to say goodbye to their child at the classroom door

September 14th
- First full day of school

STUDENT GROUPS FOR GRADUAL ENTRY MINI SESSIONS
Dear Parents,
For the purpose of gradual entry, Kindergarten students have been grouped into 4 small groups. These groupings are not the final groupings for the school year – they are simply for the gradual entry process which helps to introduce our newest students to classroom activities and school routines.
