SCBAA Meeting Minutes – August 22, 2016

Attendance: Mike Murray, Josh Toal, Tammy Buehler, Matt Maher, Nick Hester, Eric Gray, Katie Nikodym, Matt Heischmidt, Tj Slattery, John Piskulich

Opening Prayer: Mike Murray

Old Business:

Volleyball system bid/set up: Katie reported the bid/order came in for $3,395 for the new net system. Will be delivered and set up ASAP.

Uniform update: Discussed the various options of what to do when a player needs a new uniform. Order new ones every year or have individual players order year to year. Concluded each player will buy a new uniform each year, raise the price of registration in order to even out the amount of uniforms remaining and to make re-ordering easiest and most convenient for all.

PUG Goals for kindergarten/new teams: SCBAA felt that each new coach deserved the option of receiving PUG goals for their practices if they did not have any. We felt if coaches wanted to borrow some form SCBAA then they can write a deposit check and will get back upon the return of PUG goals and borrowed soccer balls.

Entryway: Tammy reported she met with RBO Printlogistix to review the proposed bid for the lettering and side standouts for the entryway (beside the Bobcat). The bid (plus installation) came to $1,435). Since then Katie Nikodym has taken their bid to Craftsmen to receive another bid. Our goal is to finish the entryway by basketball season.

New business:

Mrs. Burton has a “wish list” of numerous items she’d like to be addressed in the gym. SCBAA discussed what we could help with and John Piskulich is taking several of the tasks to see how much can get accomplished thru the construction company within a budget of $1,500. In addition, we recognized the cages for basketball and volleyball (carts) can be updated as well as new nets.

Registration: Jim Doughty reported to move up basketball registration to the 1st week of October. It will be posted there will be a $20 late fee if anyone goes beyond the deadline date. (Date TBD). Too many people are taking the SCBAA individual time (and respective coordinators who already have rosters set) to re-open registration after the deadline date.

CYC Report: Matt Maher reported there are 2 open chair positions within the St. Charles CYC office (baseball/softball and soccer). More nominations are looking to be presented to CYC from fall sports teams to recognize for “good sportsmanship”. All age groups are now required to have CYC ID cards. Sunny Kaushik (who will take over SCB CYC chess team) will submit a wish list to get his team going.

Soccer: Eric Gray reported all 18 teams representing SCB are approved by CYC.

SCBAA Treasurer Wendy Box has given her notice she will be stepping down in her position. We are grateful for the time, effort and great detail she has put forth within her job as treasurer.

Final Prayer: Mike MurrayNext Meeting: Monday, Sept. 26 – 7pm
