Communal Reconciliation Service—On Wednesday, March 24th at 7:00 p.m., parishioners are encouraged to attend a Communal Reconciliation Service at Church of the Resurrection in Solon. Fr. Dan will be there to offer this Sacrament.

Free Tax Preparation—At the Thea Bowman Center at the corner of East 120th and Union on Saturdays from 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and Mondays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in March. Please call 216-491-0699 for an appointment and come with the needed documents. Documents you will need: W-2 forms, 1099 forms, unemployment forms, proof of childcare payments, social security cards for all in the household, last year’s tax return (if available) and other IRS documents (if applicable), bank account numbers and routing numbers for direct deposit (if desired).

Haiti Earthquake Relief—Cleveland’s Goodness Again Demonstrated—And the second greatest commandment is “Love you neighbor as yourself” (Matt.22:36-40). Once again… the good people of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland reports that more than $1.1 million dollars has been donated by the parishes to Catholic Relief Services for the recovery effort in Haiti. CRS reports it will be working in Haiti for years to come. Several recovery phases are projected; currently shelter during Haiti’s rainy season is the highest priority as emergency shelter kits have been distributed to 12,000 families.
Tetélestai—Cleveland Performing Arts Ministries’ musical passion play “Tetélestai” will be taking place THIS weekend at the Church of the Gesu, 2470 Miramar Boulevard in University Heights on March 19th -21st. Tetélestai’s dramatic stage production and timeless music tell the story of Jesus’ trial, execution and resurrection in a visual way that will leave a lasting impression. This is a great way to enhance your Lenten journey and to prepare for the holy days of the Easter season. Performances will be on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m., with a Sunday Matinee at 3:00 p.m. Doors will open 1 hour before performance time. Justice for Immigrants (JFI)—The U.S. Bishops’ postcard campaign in favor of comprehensive immigration reform has distributed over three million postcards to dioceses around the country—over 100,000 postcards here in the Cleveland diocese. As Catholics, faithful to the Gospel and to the Church’s social teachings, we are calling on Congress to enact legislation that keeps immigrant families together, adopts smart and ahumane enforcement policies, and ensures that immigrants without legal status register with the government and begin a path toward citizenship. Parish Choirs at Cathedral Lent 2010—During the season of Lent 2010, five parish choirs from around the Diocese have accepted the invitation to sing at the Cathedral Sunday 5:30p.m. Mass. Preaching the Blues: Where is the God of Love in the Suffering of Life—This installment of Theology on Tap will take place on Thursday, March 25th at 6:00 p.m. at the Flat Iron Café-Kells Club Room (1114 Center Street in Cleveland). Girlfriends’ Summit—On behalf of the Office of Ministry to African American Catholics, please accept this invitation to a retreat for women facing all forms of change. A Girlfriends’ Summit is scheduled for Friday evening, March 26th through Saturday, March 27th at River’s Edge Center, 3430 Rocky River Drive. Young Adult Faith Formation–Mustard Seed….Finding the Spirit in Everyday Life. Join with other young adults for timely discussion of real life issues with mainstream movies, prayer, conversation and hands-on service events. Raising the Tide. MARK THE DATE!—The Coalition with Young Adults (C-YA) will host a one day symposium, Raising the Tide, to discover how the Church within the diocese of Cleveland can best harness the strength of collaboration to meet emerging needs of Catholics in their 20’s and 30’s (married, single, with/without children) in our diocese. The symposium is geared for all Catholics, aged 18-49 across the diocese, who are willing to share their ideas, knowledge, experiences, and faith with various Catholic leaders.
