Hello,

We are very excited you will be joining us for the 38th Scandinavian Hjemkomst and Annual Midwest Viking Festivals, June 26 & 27, 2015 at the Hjemkomst Center, 202 1st Ave. North, Moorhead, MN. Each of the six Fargo-Moorhead Scandinavian Clubs will have an area in the building to share their unique culture and heritage. Yourbooth space maybe placed throughout the first and third floors depending on your art, craft, or merchandise, as well as when your paperwork was returned. The 4th floor will be utilized for children’s activities and no vendors will be placed in this area.

ONSITE REGISTRATION OF ALL VENDORS/EXHIBITORS

When you arrive at the Hjemkomst Center Thursday, June 25th or Friday morning, June 26th, you will need to sign in at the Exhibitors Registration Table. The registration table is located inside the receiving door (southwest corner loading dock area). You will be receiving a nametag that you and anyone you have designated as a booth attendant will be required to wear in order to get into the building each day. (This information was requested in your registration packet, if changes/additions please contact us.)

FESTIVAL HOURS

Booths must be ready by 9:30 am each day. Booths must be available to the public during both days and during all festival hours. Vendors must leave building by 5:15pm on Friday June 28th.

PARKING

All exhibitors, volunteers and festival participants are required to use the Northside Parking Lots at the Moorhead Center Mall during the day (NOT THE PARKING RAMP). This allows festival goers to use the Hjemkomst Center parking lot. A shuttle bus will run Friday 9:00am-6:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-6:00pm. You may deliver or drop-off in the morning.

BOOTH PLACEMENT

All exhibitors will be placed on Level 3 and around the Ship area on Level 1 of the Hjemkomst Center. There will be signage directing people to the Marketplace and Country areas on Level 3. Each booth space will include the number of 8-foot tables and chairs requested on your registration form, as well as any other particular requests.

TAX CERTIFICATE

If you sell products during the festival you are required to hold a Minnesota tax certificate and display it in your booth. If you need a taxidentification # you may request one attaxes.state.mn.us. Clothing is exempt from Minnesota taxes. If you have not provided this paperwork already, please bring it with you to the festival.

ELECTRICITY

Outlets are available to those who requested access. Exhibitors/Guest Artists must provide their own #14 or #12 extension cords. Power strips are NOT ALLOWED and only two cords per outlet are allowed.

ITEMS NOT ALLOWED

Balloons, confetti and lit candles are NOT allowed.

TABLE COVERINGS

We require that your table be covered and skirted with an appropriate material. White plastic coverings and table skirts will be available to purchase if needed.

SECURITY

You are responsible for the security of your own property brought into the Hjemkomst Center and Viking Ship Park. The Hjemkomst Center is locked and secured by an alarm system each night. Evening security is hired to watch Viking Ship Park, but you should secure your own property outdoors.

SCANDINAVIAN APPAREL

We encourage you to wear Scandinavian folk costumes or Nordic designed apparel while in your booth.

SCAVENGER HUNT

This year we will be providing kids with a necklace and participating booths with beads. If you volunteered to be a passport stop, you instead receive beads that the kids can place on their necklace after completing the activity or viewing the demonstration at your stop. Not all stops will receive beads, but will still be identified as a stop on the Scavenger Hunt.
