A. SENDING CARGO TO USCG BASE IN SEATTLE (USE ATTACHED LABEL FOR ADDRESS):
Please send a cargo manifest to both Andy Heiberg and Neal Amaral when you you’re your cargo shipment. The USCG is working on having a webtracking system for cargo and I’ll let you know when this is set up. The following address should be used for shipments:
Commanding Officer
USCGC Healy (WAGB 20)

Attn: LTJG Neal Amaral/MSTs
NOTE: Science party members pay for meals at the same rate as Coast Guard personnel, at approximately $7.00 per day. During the cruiseS NSF logistics pay for this directly. However, during the on and off-load events, the scientist is responsible for payment before departing the ship, payment by check or cash only.
B. SENDING CHEMICALS TO UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON IN SEATTLE
All SBI chemical orders (excluding radionuclides) should be shipped to Kathy Krogslund in the Oceanography Department at the University of Washington in Seattle (; ph. 206-543-9235). You can start shipping samples now. Note that the PI/lead technician should email Kathy with what has been ordered, cc:ing both Andy Heiberg () and Sue Huney () at APL. Make sure the PI name is listed on the cargo manifest, in the email and on any cargo shipment. Kathy will then inform the PI when the shipment has arrived, also cc:ing Sue Huney and Andy Heiberg. Make sure you send Kathy, cc Andy and Sua, any MSDS forms for all chemicals being shipped to her. All chemicals must arrive UW by April 7 as Andy will be transporting them to the Healy 8-9 April 2004. Once the USCG gets their shipment tracking system up and running on the USCG website, information on chemical shipments will also be logged there.
