SAVE THE DATE FOR 2018 TBAQ ADULT STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Toowoomba, Queensland’s famed Garden City and just 90 minutes from Brisbane, will be buzzing with bowling action and the spirit of friendly competition this year as players, officials and supporters from all around Queensland gather to participate in the annual Tenpin Bowling Adult State Championships of this popular sport.

Leader of the organising team for the 2018 TBAQ Adult State Championships, Morty Douglass, today released details of Queensland’s pinnacle event for Youth and Adult bowlers from all around the State. In association with Platinum sponsor, Back Roads Touring Company, the Championships will be staged across 5 days on two consecutive weekends – 28-29 April and 5-7 May 2018 at Toowoomba’s Sunset Superbowl.

The state of the art, 24-lane Centre will provide the ideal venue for the event that is expected to attract more than 200 players, officials and supporters. The Championships comprise several divisions, culminating in Masters (elite) events for Youth, Restricted, Adult, Over 45 years, and Senior (over 50 years).

Queensland’s famous Maroon and Gold state colours will be reflected by the mellow tints of red and gold that predominate the landscape around Toowoomba in autumn. “It’s been almost 20 years since the TBAQ Adult State Championships were staged in Toowoomba and we’ll be working closely with Nathan Stein and volunteers from the local Association to present a truly memorable event,” Douglass explained. “The Championships will feature five divisions and will include players from all over Queensland. “Adding to the prestige of the 2018 Championships will be the inclusion of a Gala Awards function and TBAQ’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony,” he continued.

“We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Back Roads Touring Company, renowned for its experience in small group and tailor-made tours across the UK and Europe, and spreading its wings to a range of new touring destinations in Asia in 2018. “This exciting partnership will provide a fantastic opportunity for the bowling community to discover more about the BRT experience, and we’ll soon be announcing details of a sensational prize being offered in conjunction with this year’s Championships …. watch this space,“ Douglass added with a grin.

Squads are expected to fill fast, so save the date and go to www.tbaq.org.au to register your interest.
