SARTE Instructionsfor All Education Majors

You must purchase a TK20 account before you are able to apply for SARTE. If you have not already done so, click on the TK20 purchase link on the SARTE website.

Welcome to SARTE! The Student Score Sheet will help you determine if you are ready to apply to be admitted to Teacher Education. SARTE steps are listed below.

  1. Complete the Personal Initiative Worksheet online after you have purchased TK20.
  2. Determine your SARTE status by filling out the Student Score Sheet at the end of this instruction sheet.
  3. Print off your Dispositions Assessment from your ED 205 cooperating teacher. If you did not take ED 205 at MSUM, you will skip this part and the points will not be figured into your total score.
  4. Make an appointment to see your advisor during advising week or when you meet all SARTE criteria and are ready to apply for admission into teacher education. Bring the SARTE Student Score Sheet with you to the advising appointment.
  5. Your advisor will submit your SARTE score into Diary.
  6. You will receive an email notice of your admission into teacher education.Note: If your score is below 20 points, you may want to wait to submit your SARTE application until you can be fully admitted.
