SARGENT COUNTY FARMERS UNION

Scholarship Program

The Sargent County Farmers Union is awarding one $500 scholarship annually to a student of each of the three schools in the county if the following criteria are met.

1.  Parents must be members of Sargent County Farmers Union.

2.  Must be enrolled in an accredited two or four-year College, University, or Vocational/Technical School.

3.  A transcript of the student’s grades should accompany the application.

4.  Student applying may be a senior in high school or may already be in College.

5.  Return application by April 15, 2018 to:

6.  The recipient must be enrolled in school for the second semester and will receive a check made out to the student/school they are enrolled in. This will be applied to the second semester of school.

On a separate sheet of paper include the following:

Part I

1.  Applicant’s Name

2.  Applicant’s Home Address and Phone Number

3.  Parent’s Name and Address

4.  Current School Name, Address and Phone Number

5.  College, University or Vocational/Technical School attending or planning to attend.

Part II

In 100 words or more describe your career and life goals. Describe how your career goals would relate to the field of agriculture or in rural North Dakota.

Part III

1.  List the different Farmers Union activities that you have attended, such as Farmers Union Youth Camps, County, State or National Convention, and Farmers Union Youth Classes.

2.  List academic, vocational, and leadership awards you have received during High School. These awards may be local, regional, state or national.

3.  List the co-curricular activities you have participated in during High School. Examples may include student government, music, debate, sports, etc.

4.  List your activities in community and public affairs. You may include volunteer and part-time work.

5.  If you are already in college, include any extra activities.
