SANYU BABIES’ HOME

Sanyu Babies’ Home is a Christian based organization under the auspices of the Church of Uganda (Anglican), Namirembe Diocese; taking care of abandoned children. We exist to provide Christ-like love to babies and children deprived of parental love; and reintegrating them into the community through reuniting them with their families, fostering or adoption.

Sanyu plans to recruit a suitably qualified Ugandan with an impeccable track record, commitment and integrity to fill the vacant position of RESOURCE MOBILIZATION OFFICER.

Requirements

1.  Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences/ Mass Communication, Project Management, Business Administration or related field, with substantial experience in fund raising and public relations;

2.  Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in developing and implementing fundraising, advocacy and communication strategies;

3.  Should be committed to the values of Church of Uganda (Anglican);

4.  Prior experience/understanding of managing children’s Homes is essential;

5.  Computer skills in word, excel, power point, and any statistical package;

6.  Strong skills and oriented in communication, networking, public relations and advocacy;

7.  Proven ability in developing and maintaining close relationships with local and international partners and donors;

8.  Strong proposal writing and presentation skills;

9.  A team player.

Purpose of the job

1.  Develop, implement and monitor SBH Resource Mobilization Strategy;

2.  Participate in marketing SBH to potential partners;

3.  Develop, manage and update SBH donor’s database;

4.  Write and submit fund-raising proposals to potential donors;

5.  Sensitize and train SBH staff and management on fundraising skills and strategies;

6.  Develop, implement and monitor SBH Communication Strategy;

7.  Develop, implement and monitor SBH Advocacy Strategy;

8.  Produce communication materials in support of fundraising and advocacy such as brochures, appeals, newsletters, annual reports, news features for dissemination through various media and fora.
