Invitation to Bid – Painting and Wall Coverings

Sealed bids are invited for the Painting and Wall Coverings Package, defined in the Contract Documents and other associated parts of the work included as part of the University of Virginia, Multipurpose Arena (John Paul Jones Arena). The Project is generally described as furnishing all painting and wall coveringson the 366,000 square foot Multipurpose Arena and 250,000 square foot Parking Garage Structure, which includes furnishing and installing painting and wall coverings, as indicated in the Contract Documents.
Sealed bids in duplicate will be received at the Office of Contract Administration, Room 114, Facilities Management Annex, 575 Alderman Road, P. O. Box 400726, Charlottesville, VA 22904, until 3:00 p.m., local prevailing time, on February 16, 2005. The bids will be opened publicly and read aloud at 3:00 p.m., local prevailing time, onFebruary 17, 2005.
Procedures for submitting bids, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders. The procedure for withdrawal of bid due to error is described in Section 2.2-4330 (A)(ii), Code of Virginia. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the job site office trailer located in the 331 Massie Road, Charlottesville, Virginiaat 11:00 a.m., local prevailing time, on February 1, 2005. Contractor registration in accordance with Title 54.1, Code of Virginia, is required. Bidders use of Small, Women-owned and Minority (SWAM) firms will be documented and reported to the contracting office throughout the life of the project. All firms reported as SWAM firms must be registered and certified with the Department of Minority Business Enterprises (DMBE) in Richmond to qualify.
